The label 'made in Germany' is enough to entice anybody to buy a product. The Germans are eccentric about quality. Their workmanship is unrivaled in the world and that is why you will want to buy something made in the country during your holiday there. Below are the most popular shopping districts in the country.

1. The Schildergasse in Cologne

With over 13,000 people passing over the street every hour, the Schildergasse is the busiest street in Europe. This has brought all the major world brands to this street. If an item cannot be found on this street, it probably doesn't exist.

2. Kaufinger and Sendlingerstraße in Munich

For clothes, books, jewelry, and shoes, head straight to Kaufingerstraße. If you are looking for specialized items such as paintings, watches, jewelry etc., you are better of searching for it on Sendlingerstraße.

3. Zeil in Frankfurt

From chic boutiques to international department chains, this street will have everything that a discerning shopper will be looking for. You will get a chance to shop at world class jewelers’ outlets such as Cartier and Tiffany or international designers such as Armani and Versace. While at it, take your taste buds on a whirlwind at the gourmet restaurants that dot the street.

4. Königsallee in Dusseldorf

Locally known as 'Ko', this street is everything that a shopaholic dreams of - availability of world beating brands without having to travel too far. Some of Germany's best luxurious boutiques, high-end designer stores, and shopping malls are located on this street.

5. Mönckebergstraße in Hamburg

Locals call this street 'Mo'. This is a pedestrian zone that runs from the train station to the city hall of Hamburg. Just to demonstrate how important this street is, the Europe's largest sports store, Karstadt and the world's biggest electronics store, Saturn have set shop here.

Make sure you have enough cash to burn. Most of the brands you are going to buy at the above streets do not come cheap. They are luxury brands. Adorning a Rolex watch bought at any of the above streets is not only a fashion statement but also showcases one's fashion consciousness.
